The Union Budget of India for the financial year 2021-22, which is the Annual Financial Statement and Annual Budget of Republic of India, will be presented on 1 February 2021. The Union Budget of India is a core document of public finances and its presentation by India’s Finance Minister is a major occasion for India’s businesses and investors across the globe. The Union Budget in addition to presenting the annual finances of Government of India also provides a direction on major economic policy reforms that are proposed to be implemented by India in the immediate term.
The Union Budget of India this year is expected to be unique, as it is being presented in the backdrop of a global pandemic that has disrupted the world economy and the Indian economy is no exception. Several stakeholders expect this budget to be landmark budget focused on reviving the Indian economy impacted by the pandemic.
The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), the apex industry body of India, is organizing an exclusive interaction with Mr Tarun Bajaj, Secretary, Department of Economic Affairs, Ministry of Finance, Government of India, to understand the implications of the Union Budget on 9 February 2021 from 2:30 to 4:00 pm India Time.
The Department of Economic Affairs, Ministry of Finance, is the nodal agency of the Union Government to formulate and monitor country’s economic policies and programmes having a bearing on domestic and international aspects of economic management.
